Championship side Derby County have confirmed that former Manchester United and England captain Wayne Rooney will join them as a player- coach in January. The 33 year old forward has scored 23 goals in 41 league games for DC United in the Major League Soccer (MLS).
It is a perfect ladder to enter into the coaching business, something which his former England teammate John Terry has done successfully at Aston Villa.
